On arrival, the Kabaka was welcomed by some of his subjects who live in the Western European County.
Reports indicate that Kabaka Mutebi is in Germany to receive specialized medical treatment following months of feeling unwell.
During his meeting with President Yoweri Museveni at State House Lodge Nakasero earlier this month, the Kabaka reportedly told the fountain of honor that he had not been well health-wise and he was planning to travel abroad to seek better treatment.
He also told Museveni that he was to use the same trip to meet and interact with his people who live and work abroad.
In April this year, the Prime Minister (Katikkiro) of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga revealed that Kabaka Mutebi was suffering from allergies.
Addressing the media at Bulange Mengo, Katikkiro Mayiga said the Kabaka had never been poisoned as it was being claimed by some people on social media.
âDuring his 66th birthday celebrations on Tuesday, many people noticed that Ssabasajja looked unwell. But as you know, in life we face a lot of challenges and now Kabaka is facing a life challenge of allergy. It can be caused by the foods we consume, dust among other things. Due to allergy, the Kabaka finds it difficult to breath especially when putting on a face mask or shield,â Katikkiro Mayiga noted.
âWhat is being said that Ssabasajja was poisoned is not true and all those social media rumors are baseless. They should be disregarded because if followed they are likely to cause anxiety,â he added.
The Katikkiro further stated that the Kabakaâs health was being managed by appropriate medical experts.
âSsabasajja is being treated by specialised doctors and we are optimistic that he will be fine.â
The Katikkiroâs remarks followed complaints from a section of social media users who tasked the former to provide details regarding the health condition of the kabaka after making a public appearance during his 66th birthday celebrations at Bulange Mengo where he looked sick and frail.
And when the Katikkiro shared some of the kingâs photos on his Facebook page after the celebrations, some netizens asked him to explain what really happened to their cultural leader. Some even went ahead to abuse him.

]]>FAHAD BRUHAN JR: Donât invest in rentals, business is betterhttps://www.watchdoguganda.com/entertainment/lifestyle/20210810/118966/fahad-bruhan-jr-dont-invest-in-rentals-business-is-better-3.html Tue, 10 Aug 2021 15:04:42 +0000https://www.watchdoguganda.com/?p=118966I believe youâve come across people who tell you this, or heard something similar to it. Personally, I have told people the same countless times.Usually we say or you hear things like rental gives small annual return, recouping your investment will take longer.., Its not a wise investment etc.
Which is somehow true depending on which side of the table your sitting on. The table of inexperienced us or those who have been in the business world, experienced and succeeded.
The table of those who have knowledge about different investment vehicles and business or those who donât..
The table one sits on matters alot when it comes to such decisions and choices. The person telling you doesnât know which table you sit on.
We also give you claims that a business gives you 30 to 40 percent return. What we donât tell you is, less than 10% of small businesses can guarantee you 30% plus return year after year for close to 5 consecutive years or more.
Most small business besides paying employees salary and business owners divident make small net profits, sometimes not at all. If theyâre doing very well, you can make upto 50% or more return, but these are 1% cases.
We also donât tell you that, of the fair but irregular return from these small businesses which we tell you to start, the risk involved is much higher (this is economic principle, higher return comes with higher risk). We donât know your risk tolerance!
This means most small scale businesses have very high risks. The failure rate is alarming, around 90 percent failure rate. Starting a small business, your chances of success or being operational after 3yrs is less 10%.
We also donât tell you that running business is hard, very very hard actually even experienced business people struggle. Add the fact that most African economic setups dont support small businesses with there unfavorable incentives like high taxes, license hurdles, lack of support, red tape etc makes it worse
And you, not being a business person before actually makes it worse. You lack basic skills, knowledge and experience about business. You are ok with the job and salary, you just want something to add on what you make.
Advising you to start a business rather than going rental without considering your risk tolerance, knowledge and skills, experience etc is not a good advise especially looking at the high risk involved and inconsistent returns.
We who somehow believe we can take the risky business or alternative investment journey, we shouldnât tell you to do the same, especially when the facts we have are inaccurate and most times from inexperienced sources.
If you have some good income or saving, your not the business type, have limited knowledge about alternative investments, you have a good paying job, you donât have time, then rental investment is good for you in the long run if you can afford its costs.
You can get small annual returns, but the return is 90 plus guaranteed and for good years to come. You have capital appreciation and above all, sense of security for you and your family. Donât listen to us, do what is right according to your circumstances and financial plan.
Which brings me to the question, Do you have a Financial Plan?

]]>Uganda dragged to East African Court over refusal to reopen places of worshiphttps://www.watchdoguganda.com/news/20210810/118974/uganda-dragged-to-east-african-court-over-refusal-to-reopen-places-of-worship.html Tue, 10 Aug 2021 13:42:55 +0000https://www.watchdoguganda.com/?p=118974The government of Uganda has been dragged to East African Court of Justice over its intentional refusal to reopen places of worship. On 18th June, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni imposed a second total lockdown of 42 days to curb the spread of the second wave of covid-19.
After 42 days some sectors such as public transport were allowed to operate at 50 percent level, arcades were also allowed to open, business centres such as Kikuubo were also allowed to operate however places of worship were kept closed for other 60 days.
The three concerned citizens; Bishop Jack Barlow from Reigning in Life Ministries, Matanda Abubaker Hassan and Namukisa Josephine say government reopened places like business centres which are more congested with people and less organized than places of worship.
Through their lawyer Daniel Walyemera, the applicants want the East African Court of Justice to declare that continued enforcement of a ban and /or suspension on religious freedom by the government is a violation of the freedom of religion, conscience and belief and associated fundamental civic right protected under Article6 (d) of the East African Treaty that enjoins partner states to govern following the principals of good governance.
Other declarations included; That the effect of the presidential Directives has a chilling effect on the right to freedom of religion, belief and conscience which is a breach of Article 6 (d) and 7 (2) of the treaty.
They want the court therefore to order the government to cease the enforcement of the ban and/or suspension of the religious freedoms.
They also want an order that allows places of worship to reopen on similar terms as other public places/ in respect of their beliefs with observance of Covid-19, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and a permanent injunction restraining the government from enforcing any oppressive SOPs against places of worship.
Applicants speak out
While addressing journalists at Makerere University on Tuesday, Matanda said that the government indiscriminately closed the places of worship which goes against several human rights and abuse of various obligations that places of worship ought to do in various communities of the country.
âWe all know that we are living in unprecedented times with a pandemic in our midst but as we might be aware, states and governments like ours donât have a very good record of respecting human dignity and rule of law and so every time you give them chance even in the state of crisis to issue unilateral and arbitrary orders and SOPs they often abuse that space. Therefore, we are saying for purposes of places of worship the SOPs put on them are also too discriminatory, unreasonable and not justifiable and they are likely to worsen the situation.â
Bishop Barlow also added that if the government can allow a market, burials where people are coming from different places how about places of worship where people are disciplined, there is a very clear hierarchy, high order and hygiene and high level of leadership? He said that the excuses government is giving why churches are still closed are not justifiable.
âThis is indeed a cry we are passing out where we feel that there is an injustice that is being perpetuated which can be corrected and for lack of an avenue of how to correct it, this is one of the options that we have chosen to take. So we are pleading with the government to reconsider its directive because itâs infringing on the right of every individual.â
Namukisa also wondered why places of worship were not considered by the government as as important as other reopened sectors.
âExcluding places of worship from essentials sectors was not good at all because that is where most of us run for spiritual empowerment. This pandemic has left many people troubled psychologically and the only way is to open places of worship to counsel troubled people. When I lost my father last, it was one of the hurting moments but not being able to hear from my pastor in charge of spiritual wellbeing regularly made the situation all the worse. I think that people who advise the president donât attend churches and they canât account for the reason why places of worship must be opened.â

The deal is for two years, with the option of a third year. Messi is ready to accept and an official announcement could come in the next 24 hours.
So, how much will Messi be earning at PSG?
Looking at the â¬35m take home salary, that works out at just shy of â¬3m per month (â¬2.91m to be more precise).
Messi will take home â¬729,000 a week, or â¬104,000 a day or â¬8,680 per hour or â¬144.68 per minute or â¬2.41 per second. These are all rough estimates, of course.
On top of that, Messi will also pocket a â¬25m signing on fee.
Interestingly, it is more than Neymarâs reported â¬31m-a-year wages and PSG remain in talks with Kylian Mbappe over an extension to his contract, which has just one year to run and will be of similar expense.

]]>Here are 15 profitable businesses you can start in Ugandahttps://www.watchdoguganda.com/entertainment/lifestyle/20210810/118964/here-are-15-profitable-businesses-you-can-start-in-uganda.html Tue, 10 Aug 2021 10:17:50 +0000https://www.watchdoguganda.com/?p=118964By Erias TwalibThere are over 1000 business ideas in Uganda that you can start and benefit from.
Any business regardless of how much you use as capital has the potential to grow into something big.
I mean, we all start somewhere and if your dream is to start a business, it doesnât matter how much you have as seed capital.
Here are top businesses that you can start in Uganda:
1. Selling second hand clothes
This is among the business ideas in UGANDA that most Ugandans fear venturing into.
However, second hand clothes business is booming and if you are looking for a business to start, this would be the best place to.
The good news is that you donât require a lot of capital to go into the business. With as little as 300,000 you can start selling 2nd hand clothes.
All you need is to get a good location and know where you will be buying clothes. Most people buy at Owino market in Kampala.
You can be assured that on an average day, you can make a profit of around 15,000 shillings.
2. Salon or barber shop
While some people may underrate this business and assume that it is for the uneducated, it is in fact a lucrative business that has the potential of making you good money.
You can start by visiting clients in their home; make enough money to finally rent out a place.
A standard salon or barber stall goes for Ugsh.180,000 to 450,000. From there you can work on getting cash to buy the equipment you need.
3. Boda boda business
This is one of the lucrative business ideas in Uganda that young people especially are venturing into in large numbers.
If you are still looking for a job and have some money saved up, this is a good business start.
A motorcycle in Uganda costs from Ugsh 2,500,000 to 4,000,000. It means that with less the 3,000,000, you can go into boda boda business.
The good thing about this business is that you can be sure that at the end of the day, you can make a comfortable Ugsh 30,000.
4. Mobile money-business
M-money has grown tremendously and it is one of the lucrative business ideas in Uganda today.
Even if this business seems crowded, no matter where you are operating at, you can be assured that at the end of the day you will still make a profit.
Opening a Mobile money business requires you to have at least 3,000,000 but if someone gives you their line to operate with you only require around 1,500,000.
5. Poultry Farming
This is another one of the lucrative business ideas in Uganda that you can start with little capital. And I talk out of experience, being a poultry farmer myself.
Instead of keeping on sending numerous job applications without getting any response, why not better yourself by starting this business?
Starting a chicken rearing business requires a seed capital of as low as 600,000.
Profit increases as you increase the number of chicken.
6. Printing and photocopy business
If you are in college or university, this is one of the most profitable businesses you can start. You could also venture into the business if you are living near a college or university.
Starting such business will require a starting capital of less than Ugsh. 2,000,000.
7. Boiled eggs and smokies
If you have little capital and looking for small business ideas in Uganda, selling smokies and eggs is a business you can think about.
To start this business, sausage, samosa and egg business you need a capital of around 30,000 to start.
One egg goes for around 250 shs and then sell at 500shs. Thatâs 250 shs in profit. On a good day, you can make a profit of about Ugsh.15,000. in a month you are assured of an income of over Ugsh. 450,000.
All you need is to find a good location and you are on your ways to your first successful small business.
8. Manicure/Pedicure business
The truth is that every woman in Uganda wants to look beautiful and you can tap into this potential by starting a manicure and pedicure business.
I have a friend who is doing well in this business and only needed Ugsh.150,000 to start.
Like him, you can start by doing house calls before you rent a place.
9. Car wash business
This is one of the best business ideas in Uganda right now. You donât require much to start a cash wash, just an area with water supply.
The Ugandan culture is that people would rather pay someone to wash their cars than do it themselves.
If you charge 6000 shillings per car, you can manage to clean 100 cars per day again depending on where you are located. That is 600,000 per day.
Get a dedicated staff and you could be making around 12,000,000 in a month. Get over the mentality that car washing is for the lowly and uneducated people in the society, people are buying plots just from that business alone.
10. Movie shop
This is one of the top businesses you can start with 600,000 in Uganda. It is also one of the easiest and the returns are really good.
If you have a computer or a laptop already, you can just rent out a room and start selling your movies.
Most movie shops make a profit of about 120,000 per day; make that 3,600,000per month. Before long you will be having your own chain of movie shops in various major towns.
11. Cleaning service business
One of the most profitable business, there is. It took Alex Nyaga the CEO of Parapet, one the biggest cleaning service provider only 300,000 to start.
He started by hiring women who would clean houses in estates at a charge of 30,000 shillings and would pay these women 15,000 shillings.
Before long, the business had grown and he was able to register a company and now makes over 150 million in a month.
As you can see, you donât need much to start a home cleaning business.
12. Selling Ice Cream
This is another one of the top business ideas in Uganda you can start.
You need to find a good location like near a school, university or a street with a lot of traffic.
The starting capital for this business in Kampala is 600,000 which means it could be less in another town.
13. Juice blending/fruit business
With so many terminal illnesses like cancer, most people opt to stay away from processed foods.
You can help people adopt healthier lifestyles by starting a juice blending and fruit stand.
With a seed capital of 300,000 to buy a blender and other containers and you are off to go.
14. Selling women handbags
Women love fashion and looking good. You can start selling handbags which I hear fetches a very good profit.
People who are in this business get their supplies from places like Eastleigh in Kenya.
And with the advent of social media, online business is booming. You can caret a Facebook page for your business, boost a few posts to reach as many people as you want.
The good news is that, you donât have to stress about getting the city council permits or a stall when you are conducting this business online.
15. Cereals Business
I have seen this work for a lot of people and it is one of the most profitable business ideas in Uganda. Choose a good location and you are on your way to a booming business.
You can get your supplies from Eastleigh in Kenya and places like Nyamakima. You can buy them in wholesale and distribute to other sellers within your locality.
To conclude, it doesnât matter how much capital you put into a business. Any business with the right determination has the ability to succeed. If you are still stuck on what business to start, why not choose from these profitable business ideas in Uganda.

With 5G, low latency is expected to be a main factor with applications running in Virtual Reality (AR), Augmented Reality (AR), and the Internet of Things (IoT) as much anticipated use cases.
However, with the emergence of 5G comes a rising need to secure user traffic and reduce on the rate of cyber attacks across the world. In the recent years, cyber attacks have been launched using organization backdoors, low software applications security, and user negligence on following set IT security standards.
5G Cybersecurity as a key need for every organization can rely on stable models the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) architecture where fault isolation is possible and Information security is divided into 5 domains to protect user data and equipment.
Network access security: ensures that mobile users have secure access to network services and mobile network is secured against attacks via the (radio) access link.
Network domain security: ensures that mobile backhaul nodes to securely exchange signaling data and user data at the mobile backhaul networks and protects against attacks on wireline link.
User domain security: secures access to mobile stations.
4) Application domain security: allows applications on user and network side to securely exchange data.
5) Visibility and configurability of security: allows user to get information about enabled security features and provision of services.
Furthermore, reliance on the 3GPP Architecture not only protects users and software applications from cyber-attacks, but also improves the legacy security model deployed on 3G and 4G communication networks.
Currently, Huawei is ranked as the best 5G enabler and the company has registered more than 5G commercial contracts to deploy the new generation network communication technology. As such, 5G cybersecurity is a top priority for the company having passed the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) certification in Europe.
The ENISA Certification is a framework under the Regulation (EU) 2019/881 to establish and maintain the trust and security on cybersecurity products, services and processes. With the Certification, the United Kingdom security chief believes that the Huawei risk can be managed since the company has more than 30 years of experience and has huge efforts in the development of 5G cybersecurity.
