Former porn queen Mia Khalifa has thrown a bucket of ice on her upcoming wedding reception â€" and the marriage itself.

The 28-year-old ex-adult cinema icon announced that she has called off the official bash with hubby Swedish chef Robert Sandberg.

In an Instagram post, the star of Mia Khalifa is Coming For Dinner and others, said the couple have been in therapy for more than a year but simply couldnâ€™t make their union work.

Khalifa wrote: â€œWe can confidently say we gave it our all in making our marriage work but after almost a year of therapy and efforts we are walking away knowing we have a friend in each other, and that we truly tried.

â€œWe will always love and respect each other because we know that not one isolated incident caused our split, but rather, a culmination of unresolvable, fundamental differences that no one can blame the other for.â€

She added: â€œWe are closing this chapter with no regrets and both starting our own, separately, but connected through incredible family, friends and our love for our dogs. This has been long overdue, but we are glad we took our time and gave it our all, and can walk away saying we tried our absolute hardest.â€

Khalifa and Sandberg were married in June 2020 and recently celebrated their first wedding anniversary. But because of COVID-19, the couple delayed their wedding reception.

But did the Scandinavian stud see the end coming? Certainly not last month.

He wrote in an Instagram post: â€œHappy anniversary baby! There is no one like you. I love you more and more every single day. Letâ€™s continue eat all the food around the world until we get really fat and old. You make my life complete my queen.â€

Khalifa later shared an Instagram post: â€œIf you already booked a flight to my wedding, idk what to tell you. I hope you bought trip insurance.â€

Khalifa and Sandberg got engaged in March 2019.

The sultry micro-celebrity was previously married during her career in pornography.
